Drivers for an FPGA system

The requirement was to design and develop an Ethernet driver for an FPGA system to provide better speed (than an MCU-based system) and is more customizable.

Alumnus delivered the required driver and the integrated the controller fully with the kernel network stack thereby enabling high speed Ethernet communication. The driver additionally created a special data path to allow certain privileged applications to bypass the kernel network stack and communicate directly with the Ethernet hardware.

This enabled highly time critical applications having the minimum latency.
