1. What is EYES?

EYES is built to help SMT manufacturers improve margins by uncovering the true causes of production losses. EYES is an AI-powered analytics solution designed to improve productivity in SMT-based manufacturing. It reads equipment logs to detect and analyse inefficiencies that traditional monitoring systems largely miss. Unlike tools that focus solely on OEE measurement, EYES goes much deeper—pinpointing specific causes of downtime, bottlenecks, and underperformance. With realtime insights and actionable diagnostics, EYES empowers operations teams to reduce unplanned downtime, improve line utilization, and enhance EBIT. The platform is vendor-agnostic, scalable, and deployable across multiple sites for continuous improvement.

2. What does EYES detect?

EYES detects various inefficiencies such as:

  • Micro-stops (short, high-frequency interruptions) that cumulatively cause 10–40% output loss, often missed by standard OEE systems
  • Cycle time irregularities (such as line imbalances between machines that limit throughput)
  • Loss Analysis
    • Bottleneck machine performance losses
    • Pre- and post-process waits caused by upstream or downstream equipment stoppages
  • Changeover and set-up inefficiencies
  • Scrap Analysis

These insights improve OEE by making invisible losses visible. EYES reads logs directly from SMT equipment, identifies every interruption and slowdown, and quantifies their impact. This enables faster root-cause analysis and data-backed corrective actions—helping improve productivity.

3. Who is EYES for?

EYES is ideal for SMT manufacturers who:

  • Already use fully automated SMT lines but want to go beyond basic OEE dashboards
  • Are looking to quantify and eliminate hidden inefficiencies
  • Want a single platform to monitor, compare, and optimize multiple lines or sites

It’s built for shop-floor operations, engineering, and management teams.

4. How does EYES integrate with SMT equipment?

EYES integrates directly with SMT equipment through multiple methods:

  • Log-based data extraction
  • API or machine controller integration
  • Support for multiple equipment vendors and line configurations

EYES can be vendor-agnostic; however, an adapter may need to be developed and customized to accommodate different machines and models of machines.

5. Supported machine brands and models (Solder Printer, SPI, Pick-and-Place, ovens, AOI, etc.)

Release One focusses on pick-and-place machines (because the highest gains usually come from actions taken on pick-and-place machines). Future releases will incorporate additional machines.

EYES is customized to suit different machine brands and data collection processes.

6. What kind of training and support is provided?

EYES includes comprehensive onboarding support. Teams are guided through installation, configuration, and usage. User training covers dashboard navigation, report interpretation, and troubleshooting. Ongoing technical support ensures continuous uptime and usability.

7. Is EYES on-premise or cloud-based?

EYES can be deployed both ways:

  • Cloud-based (SaaS) – deployed on customer’s own cloud instance for easier scalability and central visibility
  • On-premise – for organizations that require local data control or restricted network environments

Trial PoC is offered on the cloud. Both options provide the same core functionality and analytics capabilities.

8. How does EYES handle data security?

For on-premise installations, all data stays within the customer’s secure network—nothing is transferred externally.

For cloud deployments, EYES uses industry-standard encryption, access control, and privacy compliance protocols. Customers retain ownership of all production data.

9. Is EYES deployed right off-the-shelf as is?

EYES is delivered as a ready-to-use platform but is customized during setup to fit each customer’s specific environment. Configuration may include adapting to unique log formats, defining KPIs, and aligning dashboards with internal reporting structures. This ensures relevance without requiring custom development.

10. Does EYES provide recommendations?

Yes. EYES goes beyond displaying data—it highlights recurring issues and suggests micro-maintenance routines for shop floor teams. For example, if a certain feeder or placement head causes frequent micro-stops, EYES can recommend actions. After an action has been taken, the effect of the action can be tracked from the EYES application itself.

11. EYES & Red Hat: What should I know?

EYES is Red Hat certified. Where preferred/required by customers, EYES can be deployed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), providing an industrial-grade foundation known for reliability, security, and compatibility across a wide range of SMT systems and enterprise IT infrastructures.

12. Does EYES require manual input from operators?

EYES is customisable and the extent of manual input can be decided during the customization phase. For example, operators can upload data themselves onto the EYES interface, or EYES can auto-collect machine data provided access is granted to EYES and can connect to the machine data repository. A service (chargeable) is provided to build connectors which can automatically transfer data. Future releases will offer a way to optionally add event tags or remarks (for example, noting a cause during downtime) to improve diagnostic accuracy and future recommendations.

13. Does EYES need to be integrated with MES/ERP systems?

Integration is not mandatory. EYES can function as a standalone analytics layer. However, it can be integrated with MES or ERP systems through APIs to provide unified visibility across production and business operations—enabling data consistency across all layers of manufacturing.

14. What are the hardware/software requirements?

EYES requires a normal workstation—minimum octa-core CPU, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD will suffice to apply EYES for 3 lines. This will store between 5-6 months of historical data. One has the option of increasing the storage. For more lines, the options are to increase the configuration of the workstation or use multiple connected workstations (EYES has a containerized architecture supporting connected workstations).

EYES, on request, can be made available from the Cloud. In a production environment, if automated collection of machine data is required, EYES will need to be connected to the machine data repository.

15. How does the EYES license work?

EYES license is offered per line. Customers can start with a single-line deployment and scale up to cover multiple lines or entire factories. The licensing model is modular, flexible, and designed to support both pilot implementations and enterprise-wide rollouts.

16. Is there a trial available?
