A world leader in Home gateway systems needed to upgrade the existing software in an Industrial / Home Gateway device to be compatible with the Wi-Fi Alliance Hotspot2.0 (HS2.0) standard. It was required to be able to pass the HS2.0 certification tests while not degrading system performance.
Alumnus implemented multiple kernel components to support the various features required by HS2.0. Important features supported included ARP proxy, Layer 2 firewall, WAN metrics notifications.
The modifications handled regular kernel data path traffic, as well as the customer proprietary data path specific to the target board.
The gateway with the modified software met the system performance criteria and achieved the Wi-Fi HS2.0 certification successfully.
