Personal Content Sharing

As mobiles came to be used for entertainment and productivity, the requirement to share and sync content across mobiles and desktops arose. Contacting the desktop from the cloud to sync content was not easy those days, nor was synchronization protocols well defined. Working with global telecommunications and mobile phone companies, Alumnus engineers overcame the challenges and joined our customer in applying for patents.

In another instance, Content delivery to multiple devices via Mobile networks was enabled by creation of a Media Asset services system to allowed configuration, maintenance and management using capabilities like:

  • Video Content Management (Upload Video Content, Publish and Distribution) and Monitoring.
  • Facilities to publish content through RSS, MediaRSS, CableLabs APIs.
  • Automatic Trailer Generation, Thumbnail Generation and Transcoding.
  • A rich client application to view the available videos.
  • Capability of accommodating multiple services, and exposing users to different classes of services based upon access rights.
  • User preferences, Billing criteria maintenance, auto-clean up and other management settings were implemented.
  • Comprehensive Analytics and Reporting was introduced (including Graphical Display of Operating Statistics e.g. Asset Inventory report, Streaming (traffic)activity report, User activity report etc.)
