A product design and manufacturing company wanted to build a complete router software based on the open source OpenWRT platform. The goal was a new product launch to increase market share in Japan and other markets.
The software needed to accommodate all available features in the market, as well as have additional updated features, some of which were not available in any other open source solution.
Alumnus provided cost effective development of these custom/advanced features while maintaining the quality expected from enterprise grade software.
Alumnus customized the build systems for customer hardware and implemented router functionalities. Alumnus developed multiple critical components of the OpenWRT system. These included support for in-kernel IPv6 and PPPoE pass-through, router configuration management enhancements, network failure detection and recovery module and DOS attack prevention module.
