Alumnus implemented Secure Booting and Firmware Upgradation mechanism for a Premier Japanese vendor focused on the Logistics, and Automotive markets.
The requirement was to have an ARM based custom board targeted for the Automotive domain to be able to boot up either in the Secure mode or the Normal mode based upon a switch configuration. In a real-time system environment like Automotive equipment, this would enable the system to be recovered using secure boot mode in case of corruption during firmware upgrade.
Alumnus developed and implemented a BSP and a customized bootloader with the required solution. It was based on T-Kernel. It also provided the facility of upgrading the software from an external media based upon another switch configuration.
