Reducing Operational Downtime Through Cloud-Based Network Visibility

Our customer’s devices are deployed at scale across large enterprises, relying on both Wi-Fi and cellular networks for critical operations. Network disruptions often impair device functionality but are frequently misdiagnosed as hardware failures. Our cloud-hosted solution accurately identifies failures caused by network issues, enabling faster resolution and avoiding the cost and delay of unnecessary hardware replacements.
Device-Level Performance Insights


A lightweight device-based agent captures key network events such as roaming, network switching, and signal loss. Devices continuously stream this data to a Kubernetes-based backend, where events are parsed and routed using Google Cloud Pub/Sub and stored in BigQuery for analysis. An application dashboard, updated every 15 seconds, provides:

  • Fleet-wide network health overview
  • Drilldowns by device subgroup
  • Per-device analytics with sub-second timestamp precision

The system is built for high-volume data, currently supporting 10,000+ devices and designed to scale up to 50,000. Each device can generate up to 10 network events every 3 seconds. By providing real-time visibility into network-related issues, the solution significantly accelerates troubleshooting, reduces downtime, and avoids costly field visits.
