1. National Digital Library

Alumnus is working with Indian Institute of Technology, the nodal agency for a National Digital Library Pilot, an initiative of The Govt. Of India.

The National Digital Library is aimed to serve as an umbrella of existing libraries, acting as a gateway to digital resources available across educational institutes in India and abroad, publishers, online publicly available material etc.

The NDL project aims the following:

  • Data Acquisition: Gathering resources and metadata of target material, normalizing them and indexing them for an efficient search
  • Data Dissemination: Serving content to the public at large, through web and mobile applications.

Alumnus engineers complement IIT Kharagpur’s Library Sciences professionals by doing programmatic Mapping and Curation

  • Mapping: Translating source library schema to NDL schema
  • Curation: Correction of values as identified by Library Sciences team

Alumnus is also building a pipeline to completely automate the existing workflow.

  • The Data Acquisition workflow is a complex multiphase phase process including many back-and-forth movements.
  • Alumnus studied the existing workflow and is automating it in order to improve the Efficiency, Reliability, Traceability, Repeatability, Scalability and Manageability of the process.

Alumnus participated in architecting the entire Dissemination system. In particular:

  • Designed and developed the entire REST API Layer to serve different clients
  • Involved in building the Web application that lets users search, browse, and look at metadata and content.
  • Involved in building Mobile Apps for iOS, Android and Windows platforms.

2. Pharmacovigilance

Professionals, ranging from field operators to medical experts, have to prepare reports for suspected cases of Adverse Drug Reactions. This involves searching for signals of adversity in different medical documents (prescriptions, field reports, hospital records and various other types of documents). It is conventionally done manually.

Alumnus automated this manual process for a client, speeding up case preparation by 400% (a professional now spends 15 min instead of 60 to prepare a case). This was a product prototype which generated significant customer interest due to its efficiencies and precision of results.

Our product is packaged as an end-to-end workflow software with:

  • Different roles for different grades of experts,
  • Progress monitoring,
  • Automatic and manual case assignment,
  • Alarms for imminent and missed deadlines, and
  • Case summary submission.

Personnel working on a case are auto prompted at every stage with results discovered by our NLP subroutines for medical conditions, laboratory tests, diagnoses, drug administrations, and medical codes. Forms are auto populated with this information, drastically reducing case preparation time.

Alumnus helped design a comprehensive international litigation support system that implements the EDRM model.

This system narrows down the search space reducing engagement time and cost while increasing efficiency across all EDRM stages - Identification, Preservation, Collection, Processing, Review, Analysis and Production.

Our areas of expertise include:

  • Extracting forensic information of files from disk images,
  • Indexing documents to facilitate keyword based search,
  • Extracting text and metadata from different type of files,
  • Searching documents based on content and metadata,
  • Identifying near/exact duplicate documents from a system,
  • Predictive Coding pipeline and its implementation.

Alumnus handled the complexities encountered in processing multilingual documents and provided effective Technology Assisted Review tools for searching across multiple languages simultaneously.
